Principal Product Designer & Group Lead — Responsible for scaling the design team, DesignOps, strategy and delivery of all product design initiatives across the organisation. In my time here we: grew the user base from 9 million to 28 million; increased monthly visits from 500K to 1.3B; launched a new iOS & Android app as well as an external client ecosystem; introduced a new brand; and constantly defining the new 'link in bio' space. During a two year rapid growth phase I was responsible for growing the Product Design teams and Ops. I was able to scale the Product Design team from 2 to 20 talented, cross-functional individuals; Introduced DesignOps like Figma ways of working guidelines, pattern libraries and various design rituals; and created interview, hiring and onboarding processes whilst being hands-on the design tools to deliver design direction.

Senior Product Designer — Led all design practices, delivery and strategy across both Drawboard PDF and Drawboard Teams products on iOS, UWP and Web. In my time here we delivered a UI/UX overhaul, bringing consistency back across all products and clients. We increased the acquisition, activation and retention rate by introducing a self-serve onboarding experience. This included a new PDF upload flow and a simplified, more powerful, team members invite flow - dropping the creation of a new project within hours. Besides those highlights, we also shipped dozens of new features and launched a brand new iOS app.

Lead Product Designer — Led the design team to bring the ambitious web3 blockchain decision-making platform to life in a react native web app solution. In my six months here we managed to define, deliver and launch an MVP of the core blockchain decision making platform, including a design system. Shipped a blockchain charity voting app on the side called Coinpocked, and launched a new Horizon State brand and website. Horizon State was recognized among the World Economic Forum’s list of ‘Technology Pioneers’.

Senior Digital Art Director and Designer — Worked for some of the leading global agencies to bring digital products and ideas to life. In my time here I worked for clients like McDonalds, ING, Adairs, AusPost, GM and Diageo; and helped build product for iOS, Android, Web, VR, NFC and Amazon Alexa. Some of my contributions to these projects have been recognised by awards like Cannes Lion, D&AD, One Show, CLIO, FWA & Awwwards.

There is no single perfect process, as every project is unique. But to deliver successful design and product solutions every time, in any timeframe, my process includes the following 6 phases: 1 - The Alignment Phase: Align on the goals and requirements of a project;  2 - The Understanding Phase: Understand the problems and opportunities;  3 - The Opportunity Phase: decide on directions and opportunities;  4 - The Exploration Phase: generate and validate ideas and concepts for solutions;  5 - The Delivery phase: finalise and deliver final solutions;  6 - The Measure Phase: measure and analyse performance. This process is not necessarily linear, and can be iterated, repeated or recommenced from scratch at any point. Each phase requires different activities and tools, depending on the project, to achieve successful outcomes.
